This bathroom renovation in Kitchener highlights the complete transformation of an outdated shower into a modern, custom-built walk-in design by Tile and Bath Co. The original space featured an acrylic shower pan, basic chrome fixtures, and a dome ceiling light — a functional but dated setup lacking visual appeal and storage. Our team began by carefully removing the existing materials and preparing the space for a full upgrade.

With the demolition complete, we installed Wedi waterproof cement board along the shower walls and added a custom-built niche for practical, built-in storage. A new tiled shower base was constructed, setting the foundation for the luxury finishes to come. At the same time, we introduced a Schluter heated floor system beneath the tile — using an uncoupling membrane and embedded heating cables to enhance comfort, prevent cracking, and ensure long-term durability.

Next, our tile installers began setting premium vertical wall tiles using leveling clips to guarantee a clean, even finish. Built-in niches were carefully tiled to match the rest of the design, blending style with function. As the renovation neared completion, large-format geometric floor tiles were expertly installed and sloped toward a center drain for efficient water flow.

The final result is a sleek, spa-inspired walk-in shower featuring vertical stacked ceramic tile, matte black fixtures, a frameless glass enclosure, and a spacious built-in niche. Every detail, from waterproofing to tilework and finishing, was executed with precision — delivering a modern and timeless space built to last
